چکیده
Abstract Background Breast cancer is known to be one of the most affecting women around globe and second common in general. In third worlds countries, breast cause death. Early diagnosis accurate follow-up these patients affect management. There are multiple prognostic factors important immunohistochemical molecular markers specimens including human epidermal growth factor, progesterone, estrogen receptors (HER2, PR, ER). cancer, HER2 positive subtype associated with a bad prognosis aggressive histological features, yet while following neoadjuvant chemotherapy, it achieves an increased pathological complete response rate. 18F-fluoro-2-deoxy- d -glucose positron emission tomography (FDG PET) has proved effective imaging technique for lymph node distant metastasis assessment, tumor staging, restaging recurrence, treatment response, follow-up. subtype, size, proliferation index, grade correlated (FDG) uptake. This study evaluates possible correlation between liver spleen (standardized uptake value) SUV max ratio four different subtypes pathologically proven primary cancer. Results Tumor (TLR, TSR) was significant parameter identification ( P value = 0.0005 0.014 respectively) luminal A 0.016 0.037 respectively). The specificity, sensitivity, area under receiver operating-characteristic curve (AUC) TLR parameters HER2-positive were 89.4%, 83.3%, 0.89, respectively. AUC TSR 57.9%, 100%, 0.83, Conclusions appeared valuable HER2- detection. thus, 18F-FDG PET/CT could beneficial tool prediction biological characteristics that help management patients.

Prediction of macrometastasis in axillary lymph nodes of patients with invasive breast cancer and the utility of the SUV lymph node/tumor ratio using FDG-PET/CT
BACKGROUND Axillary lymph node dissection (ALND) is important for improving the prognosis of patients with node-positive breast cancer. However, ALND can be avoided in select micrometastatic cases, preventing complications such as lymphedema or paresthesia of the upper limb. To appropriately omit ALND from treatment, evaluation of the axillary tumor burden is critical. The present study evaluat...
متن کاملFlowcytometric Analysis of Tumor Associated Macrophages in Invasive Ductal Carcinoma of Breast
Background: Invasive ductal carcinoma is the most common type of breast cancer in Iran. Impaired immune responses occur frequently in cancer patients, but the mechanisms of the induced immune defects remain poorly understood. It is believed that infiltrated immune cells, especially macrophages, may provide help for tumor cell growth and metastasis. Objective: To analyze the status of tumor as...
متن کاملFDG-PET/CT and CT findings of a benign solitary fibrous tumor of the kidney: correlation with pathology
Herein, we report the F-18 fluorodeoxyglucose (18F-FDG) positron emission tomography (PET)/computed tomography (CT) findings of a benign solitary fibrous tumor (SFT) of the kidney. The patient was a 63-year-old woman with a mass in the right kidney (10×9.7 cm), incidentally found on CT images. The CT scan showed a lobulated tumor arising from the hilum of the right kidney. The tumor consisted o...
متن کاملRole of FDG-PET/CT in Assessing the Correlation Between Blood Pressure and Myocardial Metabolic Uptake
Objective(s): We aimed to assess the association between blood pressure and LV myocardial uptake of FDG, hypothesizing that subjects with raised blood pressure would have higher FDG uptake. Methods: We analyzed 86 healthy controls who underwent PET/CT imaging 180 minutes following FDG (4 MBq/Kg) administration. LV myocardial analysis was perf...
متن کاملInvasive Breast Cancer: Recognition of Molecular Subtypes.
SUMMARY: Molecular profiling has fundamentally changed our understanding of breast cancer in the last 10 years, by creating a new taxonomy of breast cancers based on the expression patterns of so-called 'intrinsic genes'. Hierarchical clustering analyses performed on microarray-based gene expression profiles of breast cancers defined distinct breast cancer subgroups (luminal type A/B, HER2-enri...
